Wugi Privacy Policy
Effective October 11, 2026
Who we are
Wugi is an Atlanta nightlife app and website (wugi.us) for discovering events and venues, buying tickets, and finding photos from nights out. Wugi is operated by Knight Venture Group LLC ("Wugi", "we", "us"). This policy covers the Wugi iOS app, wugi.us, and Wugi's ticketing, photo, text and email services, and the Wugi Door app venues use to check guests in.
Eligibility
Wugi is a nightlife service for adults aged 21 and over. You must be at least 21 to create an account or buy tickets, and venues may check ID at the door.
Information you give us
- Account. Your email address and name, and a password if you sign up with email (passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see them). If you use Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the name and email that provider shares — with Apple this may be a private relay address.
- Profile. A username, the vibes and music genres you pick, and a phone number if you add one.
- Tickets. When you buy tickets we collect your name, email and, if you choose, your mobile number to deliver tickets and event updates. If you transfer a ticket, we collect the recipient's email address to send them the claim link.
- Payments. Card and wallet payments for tickets are processed by Stripe. Wugi does not receive or store your full card number — we receive the payment method type and last four digits. Credit packs bought in the app are processed by Apple; we receive a transaction identifier and the product purchased, not your payment details. Test purchases (made in Apple's sandbox or Stripe's test mode, for example during App Review or our own testing) are recorded and labeled as tests so they are never counted as real sales.
- Text message consent. If you opt in to transactional texts, we record when and where you opted in. See our SMS Terms.
- Reports. If you report a photo, we keep your report. If you ask us to take down a photo of yourself, we ask for an email address so we can follow up.
- Hidden photographers. If you choose to hide a photographer's photos, we keep that list on your account so their photos stay hidden.
- Support. Anything you send us when you contact support.
Information collected when you use Wugi
- Saves and activity. Venues, events and photos you save or like, and what you view or swipe on in For You, so we can recommend things you'll like. Some of this recommendation signal is kept only on your device.
- Purchases and entitlements. Tickets and passes you hold, credits you buy or are given, and photos you unlock.
- Location — only if you allow it. If you grant location permission on your device and leave "Use my location" on in Wugi (Account → App Settings), the app reads your approximate position to center the Discover map on you. This happens on your device; we do not send your location to our servers or keep a location history. You can turn it off in Wugi or in your device settings at any time.
- Notifications. If you allow push notifications, we register your device with our push provider (OneSignal) under your Wugi account ID, along with your notification topic choices.
- Diagnostics. Crash reports and error logs (via Google Firebase Crashlytics and our own error log), which include device and app version details, the screen involved, and your account ID. Our server logs mask or leave out email addresses, phone numbers and other contact details.
- Usage analytics. App usage and purchase events (for example, viewing a ticket, starting checkout or completing a purchase) via Google Analytics for Firebase and Google Analytics 4.
- Photos and camera. If you save a photo, the app asks for permission to add it to your photo library. Camera, microphone and photo-library access are only requested when you use a feature that needs them.
Door ID checks
Venues using Wugi Door may scan your ID at entry to confirm you are 21 or older. The barcode is read on the staff device for display only. Wugi keeps just the minimum result: whether the check passed, was skipped by staff, or failed; whether you were over 21; whether the name matched the ticket; when it happened; and which staff account did it. We do not store the name on your ID, your date of birth, ID number, address or the raw barcode data. ID details recorded by older versions of the Door app are automatically removed after 30 days (a period we may adjust).
Photos taken at events
Wugi works with photographers who shoot at partner venues and events, so event photos may include people who attended. Photos are published in event galleries in the app and on wugi.us. Anyone can view and share them, but shared and saved copies carry a Wugi watermark; full-quality copies are available only by buying or unlocking them.
If you appear in a photo and want it removed, tap "Report" on the photo and choose "This is me — take it down", or email privacy@wugi.us. Takedown requests hide the photo everywhere immediately while we review. You can also report photos for other reasons, or hide all photos from a particular photographer.
Photographers who upload through Wugi provide their name and contact details so we can credit them and pay them for photo sales, and we record when they accept our photographer upload terms.
Public event information we collect
To list what's happening in Atlanta, we collect publicly available event information — event names, dates, flyers, descriptions and venue details — from public sources, including public Instagram posts by venues and promoters (collected with a service called Apify) and venue information from Google Places. We use this to build event and venue listings, not to build profiles of individuals. If you are a venue, promoter or person featured in this content and want something changed or removed, contact us.
How we use information
- Run your account and sign you in.
- Sell, deliver, transfer and scan tickets, and send related emails and texts.
- Process credit purchases and photo unlocks, and pay photographers their share.
- Recommend events, venues and photos based on your vibes and activity.
- Send push notifications you've opted into.
- Keep Wugi safe: prevent fraud and abuse, handle reports and takedowns, and fix crashes.
- Understand how Wugi is used so we can improve it.
- Meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
- Venues and event organizers receive the name on a ticket and its scan status so you can get in, and sales totals for payouts.
- Service providers that run parts of Wugi for us, under contract: Google Firebase (sign-in, database, file storage, cloud functions, analytics, crash reporting), Stripe (ticket payments and venue payouts), Apple (Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases, Apple Wallet passes), Google Sign-In, OneSignal (push notifications), Resend (email), Twilio (text messages), Apify (collecting public event information), Google Places (venue information) and Vercel (hosting wugi.us).
- People you choose — for example, the recipient of a ticket you transfer.
- Legal and safety — when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users, venues, photographers or Wugi.
- Business transfers — if Wugi is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
Retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time in the app: Account → Delete account. If you can't access the app, see our Support page.
When you delete your account, we delete:
- Your login (email and password, or your Apple or Google sign-in link).
- Your profile: name, email, username, phone number, vibes and music preferences, and text-message consent record.
- Your saved venues, events and liked photos, your activity history, and your list of hidden photographers.
- Unfinished credit-pack purchase requests.
- Your push notification registration with OneSignal.
- Error logs tied to your account.
We keep, with your name, email and phone number removed, records we need for tax, accounting, refunds, chargebacks, fraud prevention and paying venues and photographers:
- Ticket orders and passes (including whether a ticket was scanned and the minimal door ID-check result described above).
- Ticket transfer records.
- Credit purchases, credit balance history and photo unlock records.
- Photo reports you made (a takedown you requested stays in effect).
These retained records are linked only to a random account identifier that no longer connects to you. Unused credits are lost when you delete your account and cannot be refunded or restored. Service providers may keep their own records as required by law — for example, Stripe and Apple keep payment records.
Accounts with venue, staff or photographer access can't be deleted in the app because they are tied to business records; contact us and we'll close them.
Your choices
- Turn location off in Wugi (Account → App Settings) or in your device settings.
- Manage push notifications in Wugi or your device settings.
- Reply STOP to any Wugi text to stop texts.
- Ask for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct it, by emailing privacy@wugi.us.
- Delete your account in the app at any time.
Under-age users
Wugi is only for people aged 21 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 21, and never from children under 13. If you believe someone under 21 has given us information, email privacy@wugi.us and we'll delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls on our systems. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We'll post any changes here and update the effective date. If a change is significant, we'll let you know in the app or by email.
